Rebecca J. Anderson is a dynamic and inspiring presenter with ten published, award-winning children’s books and more than twenty years’ experience of public speaking. Her passion is to encourage upcoming writers, helping them find their creative voice and express themselves in a meaningful and effective way.

Along with her school visits, Rebecca has taught workshops and seminars at a number of events including NCTE, Packaging Your Imagination, SCBWI Canada East, Write!Canada, Book Camp London, and the Young Authors’ Conference. In 2015 she gave a keynote address as the International Guest of Honour at Continuum 11 in Melbourne, Australia (transcript here).

PRESENTATIONS AND FEE STRUCTURE
As a member of the Writers’ Union of Canada, Rebecca is eligible for the Ontario Writers in the Schools program, which offers subsidies for schools who would like an author visit provided they apply at least 4 weeks in advance. Details can be found here.

My standard rates for virtual presentations are $200 for 30 minutes or $300 for 60 minutes, plus $200 for any additional hours on the same day. Sample presentations are listed below.

In-Person Workshops and School Visits
My in-person speaking rates are $400 for one hour-long session, $600 for two, $800 for three, and $1000 for a full day.
I am willing to drive to any location within a 150 km radius, which includes most of the Greater Toronto Area. I am also open to travelling greater distances if there are multiple sessions booked, and accommodation and meals are covered. Mileage will be charged at the standard CRA rate of $0.55/km.
PLEASE NOTE: A cancellation fee of $50 will be charged for any visit terminated on less than 24 hours’ notice, unless an alternative date is arranged for the presentation.
